The newly built Bailey Hall in the Wallace Hall Academy has disabled access and is more suitable for the Blues Festival main event, with a large stage and better sound-proofing.

We must draw your attention to one of the conditions of let is that there is a no smoking policy within the building and the school grounds.

At Holmhill Guest house, Thornhill, we aim to provide our guests with a combination of old fashioned country house style and modern luxury amenities. We are a bed & breakfast, but as well as a B&B we aim to provide the facilities of a small hotel.

The Thornhill Inn

The pub venue of the Thornhill Inn originated in 1700 and has always been seen as the local pub. The original sand stone walls are exposed and the entire pub has a solid oak floor with original reconditioned features like shotters, coving, fireplaces and doors.

There is a pool table along with local challengers.

The Glendyne Hotel

You can expect a warm welcome from David and Elaine Masterton in their family run “pub with rooms” in the small Dumfriesshire town of Sanquhar on the A76 north of Thornhill.

The hotel has a cosy bar where you can have a drink and a chat with friendly locals and a lounge to relax in and listen to music.

Walkers of the Southern Upland Way and fishers on the River Nith are well catered for in this popular establishment in the centre of town.

Buccleuch & Queensberry Hotel

The Hotel was built by the Duke of Buccleuch in 1851 and includes a function room and main lounge for guests wishing to mix with anglers and worthies of the village of Thornhill, who meet in the evening to enjoy cask ale or a wee dram along with their music.

There is a beer garden/smoking area which is available for our smoking guests.

The Elmarglen Hotel

The Elmarglen Hotel was built in 1796 and was a temperance establishment until the 1980’s but then changed to milk and alcohol. Regular music events are held throughout the year.

Parking is available at the front of the hotel and we also provide secure  parking for motorbikes. Reasonable rates are available for bed and breakfast.
