The pub venue of the Thornhill Inn originated in 1700 and has always been seen as the local pub. The original sand stone walls are exposed and the entire pub has a solid oak floor with original reconditioned features like shotters, coving, fireplaces and doors.
There is a pool table along with local challengers.
You can expect a warm welcome from David and Elaine Masterton in their family run “pub with rooms” in the small Dumfriesshire town of Sanquhar on the A76 north of Thornhill.

The Elmarglen Hotel was built in 1796 and was a temperance establishment until the 1980’s but then changed to milk and alcohol. Regular music events are held throughout the year.
Parking is available at the front of the hotel and we also provide secure parking for motorbikes. Reasonable rates are available for bed and breakfast.
