About
The Thornhill inaugural Blues Festival will be on the 29th and 30th April 2011. If you follow Blues then this is a new date for your calendar.
A major music festival project is being planned for Thornhill.
April 2011 will see the inaurgral Thornhill Blues, if names like BB King, Eric Clapton, Memphis Slim and Joe Bonamassa are amongst your musical heroes well this is the festival for you.
The Blues, being one of the widest genre’s in music from Chicago blues, rock blues, southern blues and country blues, has it all and the organisers hope to appeal to a wide and varied selection of fans. Headling the festival will be Aynsley Lister, an artist who has been making a name for himself internationally over the last decade. With his particular brand of powerhouse rockers and poignant ballads, Aynsley has something for everyone and never fails to delight his fans or win new ones wherever he plays. On the same bill as Aynsley we are proud to introduce Oli Brown, a young bluesman already being hailed as one of the future legends of the genre. Oli plays with a skill and sense of feeling way beyond his years, and more importantly, he looks as if he is enjoying it as well. Sharing the bill with them will be another extremely talented blues performer, Chantel McGregor, who is making a real name for herself on the blues circuit. Last but never least, Scotlands own Blues’n'Trouble, hailing from Edinburgh, these lads are simply one of the best blues outfits in the country, and Thornhill is privileged and honoured to have them and the other main stage artists perform at our first Thornhill Blues Festival.
