The Thornhill inaugural Blues Festival will be on the 29th and 30th April 2011. If you follow Blues then this is a new date for your calendar.
A major music festival project is being planned for Thornhill.
April 2011 will see the inaurgral Thornhill Blues, if names like BB King, Eric Clapton, Memphis Slim and Joe Bonamassa are amongst your musical heroes well this is the festival for you.
The Blues, being one of the widest genre’s in music from Chicago blues, rock blues, southern blues and country blues, has it all and the organisers hope to appeal to a wide and varied selection of fans. Provisional headliners for the festival are The Oli Brown Band, who are considered probably the best British blues outfit at the moment and with Oli Brown himself being hailed as one of the best blues guitarists in Europe. Sharing the bill with them will be another extremely talented blues performer, Chantel McGregor, who is making a real name for herself on the blues circuit.
Organisers will be updating the website on a regular basis to inform you of the line-up for the main event.
Thornhill village is on the A76 between Dumfries and Sanquhar in Dumfries and Galloway.
